St. Stephen’s College was established in 1881 and was earlier affiliated to Calcutta University, then Punjab University and finally, it is affiliated to Delhi University. It is a co-educational institute and is listed in the top Indian colleges category. St. Stephen’s College has been ranked 4 in College Category by NIRF 2020, ranked 2 for Arts and 3 for Science by Indiatoday 2020. St. Stephen College, New Delhi is a UGC recognized college and is one of the oldest institutions in Delhi. It is an open institute and offers several UG and PG programmes along with Language courses, with different specializations. Admission to the UG courses is done on merit-basis of the qualifying exam conducted by the college, or an Aptitude Test followed by a personal interview round. For admission to the PG courses, the eligible candidates may be interviewed by the college. Scholarships are also given to students on the basis of merit and need.
